This base is about gay porn.  If you are under 18 or offended by gay porn this base isn't for you.  There are tons of gay porn sites on the web but none that can come close to to the potential of being able to collect and displaying data the way freebase can.  I started by pulling the wikipedia generated topics on gay porn movies, studios, actors and videos from the freebase commons into this base then curating them carefully. 

For a person to be part of the Gay Porn Star view in this base they must have the following properties:  They are male, film actors who have appeared in a film of the genre gay porn.  That's the requirement for this base.  You can't just call someone a gay porn star (in this base) - they need this qualifying data.

For a film/video to be included it must be typed as a film with the genre of gay porn.

For a Studio to be included, they must be listed as the production company for a film of the genre gay porn - do you see a trend?  Good!

Then I branched out to collecting more data using many web resouces and learnign quickly there is no one definitive collection - so liking a challenge, I started building what could be one.
 
Wherever possible I added as many facts as I could find on the the actors (porn stars), directors, studios and videos.  I also add images.  I'm no prude but I've shown some restraint in my images.  There are plenty of resources for hard core images but I'm more interested in representing the facts and finding interesting connections (views) than titillating the audience.

I've also created some interesting views of this data based on decade: gay porn of the 7-0's, 80's, 90's.  View based on favorite actors like Brent Corrigan whose courage, resilience, skill and charm I admire.  I have views on films by notable directors: Joe Gage, Chi Chi Larue,  William Higgins and others.

I also started collecting GayVN data - the oscars of gay porn.  Starting with 2009 I am steadily entering all nominated people, films and studios.  I'll tend to the histrical data later but with the 2009 GayVN Awards happening later this month (March 27, 2009) I wanted to concentrate on this years nominees first - and look forward to finding people who enter the winners before I do!

I'll work on creating some help topics for those who want to contribute data and on how to create new and interesting views.
